We met up with some friends at Little Corona a couple weeks ago when we had perfect weather conditions. Colton had a lot of fun playing with a couple older boys that kept jumping across the strip of water. Brekyn was adorable crawling in the sand, at times chasing after birds. I really liked the secluded beach and little rocks to climb. However, I'm not a big fan of the massive sandy hill you have to come down to get to the beach. I had a hard time coming down the path to the beach, with two kids in the stroller. But I had an even harder time going up. I like to think I'm pretty tough, but a bystander asked if I needed help, and I accepted. She must have seen the beads of sweat forming as I tried pushing my kids up the very steep incline. I don't think I'll be going back to that beach without my strong husband to help, or until my children can walk up and down the hill themselves.

A couple weeks ago I helped host a baby shower for Lyndsay. It was a fun night and I ate a ton of junk food. My friend Margaux put together the best dessert table I'd ever seen! Lyndsay is expecting a baby girl in May. Her son Chad is Colton's best friend.

What happens in Vegas...

We took a little road trip to Vegas last weekend. Devin's grandparents live there and we enjoyed visiting them. We brought Devin's sister Chanel with us to help with the kids. Best. Decision. Ever. I ended up getting sick our first night there from some Chinese take-out. Chanel played with the kids so I could rest and recover. Devin got to golf with his good friend from High School and BYU-H Travis Brenneman. Grandma Dickson took Chanel and I shopping at Charming Charlie's.

On Saturday night we left Chanel with the kids and hit up sin city. We cruised the strip and got reese's gelato at the Sugar Factory. We had a midnight trip to Denny's and feasted. It was amazing! Seriously haven't been to Denny's in years and I wish I could afford the calories to go there more often. A little ghetto, but deeee-lish!

We had a fun date night with Amy and Tyler recently. We enjoyed some time at the Newport Beach temple and some dinner at Cafe Rio.

I learned Devin is not a fan of red lipstick, so sayonara to my crimson lips! (at least for date nights...girls nights welcome)

I don't think there is anything sweeter than watching my children make each other laugh.

Colton is in the middle of potty training. I'm going to give this a week or two and see how he handles it. If he doesn't seem to be ready I may wait another month or two. Today he peed in Brekyn's bumbo rather than his Lightning McQueen toilet. (Better than the carpet!) He is talking much more lately. My favorite word he says is "delicious" which sounds like "de-wishes". His new favorite show is Octonauts on Disney Junior. His favorite foods are bagels, vanilla activia yogurt, triscuits, apples, string cheese, carrots, celery, and chocolate milk. He loves the beach and swings at the park. He loves fire trucks and Lightning Mcqueen toys.

Brekyn has been struggling with her two top teeth coming in. One has fully broken through and the other is almost finished. She is pulling herself up and standing. She waves her cute little hand and is also saying "dada". She does the cutest thing where she scrunches her nose and breathes in and out making a light hissing noise. She is our little vacuum. You can always find her crawling under Colton's highchair waiting for his scraps. So naughty!

Balboa Beach Day

My mom and I took the kids to meet up with some friends at the beach a couple weeks ago. Colton had his usual fun with throwing sand and chasing the birds. Brekyn loves to crawl in the sand so I try to keep her pacifier in her mouth to prevent her from eating it.

It was Brekyn's first time at a birthday party. It was for her friend from church, Kennedy. It was a princess theme so Brekyn got a cute tutu and scepter.

Girls Surf Trip! Woohoooooo!

My besties from Hawaii are flying here for a surf trip.

Lucky #7

Valentine's Day 2012 marked the 7th that we have celebrated together. What a special day it was! For starters, my parents let us drop the kids off in the afternoon and let them spend the night. So we had a child-free evening and morning. We went out for dinner and a movie that night. So grateful that I had Devin for a Valentine.

The nightly routine can be exhausting at times. Dinner can tend to be quite messy and the bath can lead to water splashed everywhere. However, before we brush their teeth and read to them, there's nothing better than to snuggle and tickle two cute clean kiddos in nothing but their diapers.
