Back at home...

A big thanks to Devin for being Mr. Mom for the time I was gone on my surf trip.  He took the kids to the Science Discovery Center one of the days and I'm not too put out that I missed out on the snakes.

For weeks before I left, Devin kept saying how worried he was that he'd miss Brekyn's first steps while he'd be at work.  That didn't happen!  Good news for him.  Unfortunately for me, she walked while I was gone and he sent a video to my phone the second day of the trip of her taking about 8 steps all by herself.

A good time.

You can imagine how elated I was to discover that my best friends from Hawaii wanted me to join them for a girls-only surf trip.  On Friday June 1st I picked them up from LAX and we headed straight to Roscoe's house of chicken and waffles in Long Beach.  We spent the first two nights near San Onofre to surf there.  The second the days we stayed at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa in Santa Monica, and surfed Malibu each day we were there.  We moved back to the mainland from Oahu about 3 and a half years ago and I miss these girls so much.  They are such a fun group of girls and I love them dearly.  Luckily, we're going to Hawaii in a couple weeks, so I'll get to visit them.  Can't wait!

We made shirts at the end of our trip that say:
For whatever we lose
(like a you or a me)
It's always ourselves
We find in the sea

Memorial Day 2012

 Colton playing with Grandpa Scott.

 Dane playing with the kids.

Calie and I enjoying some Strawberry soda.

  A couple of chunky cousins!
Memorial Day was a perfect start to our summer!  We joined the Dickson's for some BBQ and pool fun.  The kids love the pool!  Brekyn loves to jump to me (technically it's more of a slow fall) from the ledge of the pool.  Colton loves to have his squid with him in the pool.

This was a sad day.  Goodbye precious curls, we miss you!  Colton kept crying "No hair, no hair!" as we buzzed it off.  Heartbreaking!
