Cinderella & Captain Jack Sparrow

 Cousin Fletcher, the muscle man

Halloween is one of my favorite nights to be a parent.  I get to watch my children happier than ever as they trick-or-treat.  I get to take pictures of them in their adorable costumes.  Then, to top the night off, I get to eat candy and relax as they sleep off their sugar crash.
This year we went to the Dickson's for the night.  We ate barbecued chili dogs for dinner and then trick-or-treated early before Devin left for class.  Colton also found Grandma's candy stash so he helped pass out candy to trick-or-treaters.  Brekyn kept stealing Fletcher's candy out of his little car.

Fletcher's 1st Birthday

The sweetest little 1 year old.  Love my nephew!

Colton still hasn't figured out the concept of the egg-on-spoon-race.

I got to meet Devin's youngest cousin, Lucas.

Uncle Tyler helping Colton carve a pumpkin.

The Pumpkin Patch

The weekend before Halloween I dug through the kids' clothes to find anything black and orange.  I didn't come up with much, but we got dressed with the spirit of Halloween in mind and headed to a nearby pumpkin patch. (Devin had nada to coordinate with our clothes.)  The kids LOVED it.  The kids were too distracted by the petting zoo, massive blow up slides, and John Deere kids tractors to notice the pumpkins.

Arroyo Park

The weekend before Halloween we attended a costume birthday party.  Colton didn't last very long in his costume.  Luckily, I caught one pic of him before we left the house.

Brekyn at 18 months

This girl
melts.  my.  heart.
She is full of sass but makes every snuggle worth fighting for.
She has learned to point to her eyes, ears, mouth, nose, feet, hands, fingers, toes, legs, back, head, tongue, and teeth.
Precious.
She's learned more words and loves to read books.
She loves to dance, play with Colton, slide, & swing.
She steals all my food.
Her favorite show is Dora the Explorer.
She loves to hold pajamas and play with jewelry.

A piece of October

Lovely 90 degree October weather, ice-cream seemed fitting.

Tri-City Park

Yes, my manly man date enjoys rainbow sprinkles on his ice-cream.  ;)

Leaving church with cousin Dane.

Recent obsession:  Angry Birds

Nana & Grandpop's

A couple of weeks ago we spent the morning at my dad's parents' house.  The kids loved playing in their massive backyard and visiting with their great grandparents.

Tri-City Park

I think I witnessed her shirt roll up as she ate that fifth cheese puff!  Thanks Brylee Sue for sharing your snacks with Brekyn.

The pirate ship park

Despite the rattlesnake warnings in the surrounding bushes around the playground, we loved this park we went to on Saturday.  It was in a secluded spot and uncrowded.  We just went back there today since Devin had Columbus day off.

October 4th

We had a park play-date with cousin Brylee Sue last week.  We walked around the park and Colton got to scooter around with us and observe the ducks and geese.  Brekyn enjoyed sliding and swing with Brylee.  Colton would only let Aunt Kimberly push him on the swing.

This girls new obsession is yogurt.  She typically uses her spoon but she must have dropped it and decided her hand worked just fine.

With the endless heat, these kids have been frequently playing in the backyard with the hose.  Hence the soaking wet clothes.

Fall beach day

Last weekend we headed to Balboa Island for a beach day.  Last week was unbelievably hot for the end of September.  I have never been more ready for winter!!!  With Devin in his MBA program, the kids are in heaven when he has time to play on the weekends.
