Devin Runs LA Marathon!

He prevailed through the heavy rain and strong wind completing his first marathon.

26.2 miles!!!

I'm so proud of Devin and for his hard work and months of training for this marathon.

Congrats Dev!

Santa Ana Zoo

The zoo was a little smaller than we had expected so we were there for less than 2 hours. I think Colton had the most fun at the zoo's playground. He got to see monkeys, camels, an anteater, and a bald eagle. Unfortunately the elephant wasn't out and they didn't have lions or anything too impressive.

Gotta love those baby blues!

Is it too much to ask that our baby girl get Devin's genes with those eyes too?

My cute couch potatoes

Just winding down together after a long day.

Toothbrush Please

Colton loves to play with toothbrushes.

I guess that's not such a bad thing.

Cheeseball

Colton's head is in the 95th percentile so sometimes it's a struggle to get t-shirts and sweatshirts off. Sometimes I leave it like this for a minute because his face makes me laugh.

Ward Baby Shower

A big thank you to Lynds and Tiff for throwing me such a great baby shower and to all the girls that came. I felt so loved.

My Baby Shower

My cousin Janae is the biggest sweetheart ever and threw me an amazing baby shower. My Aunt Tammy made a delicious cake and Amy took pictures. My mom and Janae decorated so perfectly! It was a special day with family and friends and I felt so loved. This baby girl is coming into a world with so much love and support. Thanks to everyone who came!

Where a kid can be a kid...

With the rainy weather we were determined to find somewhere that Colton could use his energy and get out of the house. We took him to Chuck E Cheese's for the first time. We quickly realized he was a little young to appreciate the games. He didn't like the rides-he kept holding out his arms for us to pick him up. He was entertained by the skee balls but wasn't the best at throwing the balls the right way. I think we will wait another year or two before returning.

Valentine's Day

Love. This. Guy.
Devin and I enjoyed a night out on Valentine's Day. Dinner on the beach at one of our favorite restaurants Duke's. We exchanged gifts...he got me exactly what I wanted...2 lbs of See's candy peanut brittle. Delish! I made him photo book with a compilation of pictures from when we were dating and engaged. We made fun of couples sitting next to each other at booths instead of sitting across from each other...I mean c'mon...who does that?

Melanoma In Situ (Stage 0)

I listened to a message from my dermatologist yesterday telling me to call her on her cell phone. I was anxious to hear what the results were from a mole I had removed on Monday. I figured it wasn't good news if she was giving me her cell #. She informed me they found Melanoma In Situ which is the earliest stage of Melanoma cancer. At this point it hasn't spread deeper into the body. I guess all those years of tanning finally caught up to me. She eased my mind by saying that I should be fine since we caught it early and I just have to go back in so they can cut more out of my leg to be safe. The most stressful part is that I'm pregnant right now. However, I read all about Melanoma In Situ and I should be just fine. I just need to go in for regular check-ups every few months.
My main reason for blogging this is to encourage others to go get their moles checked. After watching a related episode of Grey's Anatomy, I went online to look at pictures of cancerous moles to compare with a particular mole I had on my leg. It wasn't symmetrical and it had changed colors over time.
KNOW THE ABCDE'S OF MELANOMA:
Asymmetry
uneven Borders
different Colors
large Diameter
Evolution (any change)

Officially In Nursery!

At church the during the last 2 hours kids that are 18 months-3 years old get to attend nursery. So parents can drop their children off in there so they can attend their Sunday school classes. Since my calling is in nursery I'm one of the leaders that watches the kids.

Love My Boys!

Luckiest. Girl. Ever.

18 Months

On January 2nd, 2011 Colton hit 18 months old.
Height: 31 1/2 in.
Weight: 27.8 lbs.
HC: 49
Colton is such an energetic boy. He loves the park and especially playing in the sand. He loves to throw sand, balls, and anything he can get his hands on. He also loves to bang on things with drumsticks or anything that resembles a drumstick. He loves to bounce-especially in his bounce house that Tanner bought him for Christmas and on the trampoline my mom recently bought him. He blows kisses to everyone-it's so sweet. He gives kisses to food, toys, and my favorite is when he gives me kisses. He is a fun guy that loves to play and be tickled and chased. He says thank you, mama, dada, no, counts 1,2,3, and signs for more. (Which means he wants to eat or drink something) He is such a wiggle worm and hates getting a diaper change. He's not much of a cuddler, but I get to snuggle him in my bed each morning while he drinks a bottle. He loves apples and celery and drinks tons of water. Devin and I probably say "he's so cute" over a dozen times each day. We love our little wild man and he makes us laugh so much each day!

Girls Night Out!

Girls night included a hotel room at the Newport Coast Villas, karaoke, hotel "party bus" ride to Avila's Restaurant in Corona Del Mar, spa/pool time, facials, pedicures, and lots of junk food!
