Where a kid can be a kid...

With the rainy weather we were determined to find somewhere that Colton could use his energy and get out of the house. We took him to Chuck E Cheese's for the first time. We quickly realized he was a little young to appreciate the games. He didn't like the rides-he kept holding out his arms for us to pick him up. He was entertained by the skee balls but wasn't the best at throwing the balls the right way. I think we will wait another year or two before returning.

Valentine's Day

Love. This. Guy.
Devin and I enjoyed a night out on Valentine's Day. Dinner on the beach at one of our favorite restaurants Duke's. We exchanged gifts...he got me exactly what I wanted...2 lbs of See's candy peanut brittle. Delish! I made him photo book with a compilation of pictures from when we were dating and engaged. We made fun of couples sitting next to each other at booths instead of sitting across from each other...I mean c'mon...who does that?

Melanoma In Situ (Stage 0)

I listened to a message from my dermatologist yesterday telling me to call her on her cell phone. I was anxious to hear what the results were from a mole I had removed on Monday. I figured it wasn't good news if she was giving me her cell #. She informed me they found Melanoma In Situ which is the earliest stage of Melanoma cancer. At this point it hasn't spread deeper into the body. I guess all those years of tanning finally caught up to me. She eased my mind by saying that I should be fine since we caught it early and I just have to go back in so they can cut more out of my leg to be safe. The most stressful part is that I'm pregnant right now. However, I read all about Melanoma In Situ and I should be just fine. I just need to go in for regular check-ups every few months.
My main reason for blogging this is to encourage others to go get their moles checked. After watching a related episode of Grey's Anatomy, I went online to look at pictures of cancerous moles to compare with a particular mole I had on my leg. It wasn't symmetrical and it had changed colors over time.
KNOW THE ABCDE'S OF MELANOMA:
Asymmetry
uneven Borders
different Colors
large Diameter
Evolution (any change)

Officially In Nursery!

At church the during the last 2 hours kids that are 18 months-3 years old get to attend nursery. So parents can drop their children off in there so they can attend their Sunday school classes. Since my calling is in nursery I'm one of the leaders that watches the kids.

Love My Boys!

Luckiest. Girl. Ever.

18 Months

On January 2nd, 2011 Colton hit 18 months old.
Height: 31 1/2 in.
Weight: 27.8 lbs.
HC: 49
Colton is such an energetic boy. He loves the park and especially playing in the sand. He loves to throw sand, balls, and anything he can get his hands on. He also loves to bang on things with drumsticks or anything that resembles a drumstick. He loves to bounce-especially in his bounce house that Tanner bought him for Christmas and on the trampoline my mom recently bought him. He blows kisses to everyone-it's so sweet. He gives kisses to food, toys, and my favorite is when he gives me kisses. He is a fun guy that loves to play and be tickled and chased. He says thank you, mama, dada, no, counts 1,2,3, and signs for more. (Which means he wants to eat or drink something) He is such a wiggle worm and hates getting a diaper change. He's not much of a cuddler, but I get to snuggle him in my bed each morning while he drinks a bottle. He loves apples and celery and drinks tons of water. Devin and I probably say "he's so cute" over a dozen times each day. We love our little wild man and he makes us laugh so much each day!

Girls Night Out!

Girls night included a hotel room at the Newport Coast Villas, karaoke, hotel "party bus" ride to Avila's Restaurant in Corona Del Mar, spa/pool time, facials, pedicures, and lots of junk food!

Pajama Boy!

When we get Colton out of his crib in the mornings, we usually find him with one, if not both, of his arms out of his pajamas. They fit him well but he finds a way to get those arms out.

Haircut Time!

Devin got out the clippers and we stuck Colton in the tub for an easy clean-up. To keep him happy we gave him a dum dum sucker in each hand. It was a little heartbreaking to say goodbye to his cute baby curls. His soft baby hair is all gone and now it's more coarse. His haircut makes him look so grown up.

Stout Christmas Eve!

For Christmas Eve we spent the first part of the night at my Aunt Tammy's house for the annual Stout Christmas Eve party. Then we went to Devin's Aunt Chrystal and Uncle Matt's home for the later part of the evening.

Pregnancy Update

Today I am 24 weeks along. My energy has returned and I'm so excited to feel normal again. Yes, my belly is huge and our baby girl is moving around like crazy...but it's way better than nausea/vomiting/exhaustion/fatigue. I'm so grateful for the help of friends and family helping me survive the hard part. I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the blessing it is to have this baby girl on the way.

I Miss Auntie Whitney & Uncle Devon!

Where are they?
Why so far?
Come visit soon PLEASE!
If that sad puppy face doesn't get you on a plane to CA I don't know what will.
My dad bought Colton this sweatshirt when he went to Ohio to visit Devon and Whitney. My brother Devon is in law school at Ohio State.

Christmas Morning At The Glassman's!

From the Dickson's we headed to my parents to spend the rest of Christmas day there. My mom made the Christmas breakfast tradition of chocolate waffles. Then we opened up gifts and Colton played and played! We got to skype with Devin and Whitney since they were in North Carolina with Whitney's family.

Christmas Morning With The Dicksons!

On Christmas morning we went to Justin & Natalie's for breakfast and to exchange gifts with Devin's side of the family. Natalie made delicious french toast and an amazing omelot.

Grandma & Grandpa Dickson Christmas Party!

Colton enjoying some nachos with cousin Kyla.
Devin's grandparents were in town for Christmas so we got together to visit and exchange gifts. Since Laurel was in Utah helping Dawn with her newborn baby boy, Scott made dinner.

Ugly Sweater Party!

Stephanie and Jill threw an ugly sweater party. We borrowed our sweaters from Kiki and Justin and Devin didn't try his on until we got to the party. We hopped out of the car and Devin slips it on to find that the sleeves were akwardly short on him. It was hilarious and needless to say Devin got plenty of compliments on his sweater.

It's a Girl!

On Monday I had my 20 week ultrasound that confirmed we are having a GIRL! We are beyond excited for our new addition to arrive. My due date is May 2nd but they schedule C-Sections for a week before the due date. I'm still not feeling 100% but this pregnancy has been significantly easier by in large part due to the miracle drug-Zofran. (aka the happy pill) With my pregnancy with Colton I was too paranoid and stressed to take any nausea medicine. I suffered for so long and vomited so much that I lost over 8 pounds in the first trimester. It was a nightmare. This time around, after suffering for about a week and not being able to take care of Colton, I knew I needed to try something. I was desperate and emotional because I knew that it was going to last for a long time like my first pregnancy. My friend Stephanie offered me a few Zofran to try it out and hold me over until my prenatal appointment where I could get a prescription. It saved my life. For about a week I had been curled in bed, eyes shut, with a barf bucket at my side, hardly holding anything down. Within 3o minutes of taking the pill, I was opening my eyes and the nausea became bearable. My body was less tense and I could relax a little bit. I still felt sick, but it was at a bearable level. I could do the minimum of atleast feeding Colton and changing diapers. It was still very difficult and I felt so helpless. Most of all it was emotional and hard not to be able to give Colton the attention I wanted to. It broke my heart. The medicine was truly a blessing and it helped so much. It was much easier to get through the worst of it since I was able to hold food down most of the time. I vomited atleast 75% less with the medicine. I'm still waiting for my normal energy to return, last time it came back around 5 1/2 months so I imagine I only have a few more weeks. Pregnancy is rough for me. I strongly dislike being pregnant. I know the end result is amazing and I have to remember to think positive. I am so excited for this baby girl, and I already have a deep love for her. We have a couple names that we are thinking of. So far the top name is Ryley Jane. We'll see!

Girls Night

We had our annual girls night Christmas party. We ate at El Torito Grill and I indulged in a virgin peach margarita...delicious!
